Task 4 - testing your website
you need a test plan to test your site here is a sample one.
You should divide your tests into style and function tests
Style tests
- Overall style - layout (compare to your specification).
- Compare each page to its design.
- Compare your navigation to its design.
- compare your banner image to its design.
- Interactive elements - do they display correctly?
- Links do they display correctly?
Function tests
- links - do they work
- interactive elements - do they work?
- Form ease of use.
- Form functionality .
- Do images display.
- Does the site load in an alternative browser?
Notes on testing.
You can acheive a distinction for a site that does not have any problems provided you have tested it completely. It is unlikely though most sites have something wrong with them.
If you had little or no design work it will be difficult to tests your site's style fully and you will be penalised accordingly.
You must say what you will test and what you expect to get a distinction. You need screenshot it is not enough to say it passed.
